Mar 16, 2016
La Maison Simons will officially open in Ontario on Thursday. The new store will be the Quebec City-based fashion retailer’s twelfth store and its third outside of the province of Quebec.
The new store located in Mississauga at the Square One shopping center is built on two floors consisting of 113 000 square feet of retail space.
The store design was inspired by Simons West Edmonton Mall’s store which opened in 2012 and received numerous design prizes. The Ontario store was designed by Lemay Michaud Architecture Design firm and Toronto-based firm Figure 3.
What’s more, Simons asked Canadian ceramic artist Brendan Tang to design a piece for the new Mississauga retail location. The sculpture will measure 10.5 feet high.
“Square One is an ideal location for our entry in Ontario and the GTA,” says CEO Peter Simons in a news statement.
To facilitate the shopping experience, the women’s section will be located on the main floor, while the men’s section will be located upstairs.
Twik, Icone and the Contemporaine collection will offer a selection of clothing for women, while Djab and Le 31 will offer both street wear inspired and contemporary designs for men. Simons home collection and lingerie department will also be found.
The Edito boutique will be available on both floors and will sell a selection of local and international deisgns from the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Balmain, as well as Canadian talent like UNTTLD and Elisa C-Rossow.
The first floor will also house the Ève café, a modern French bistro, for hungry shoppers.
La Maison Simons was founded in Quebec by John Simons in 1840.
