Osprey names Jonathan Petty head of marketing

Jonathan Petty is moving to England, Dorset to be exact. The Brit has been appointed as the new marketing director of Osprey, based in Poole, in the south of England, where the American brand specializing in outdoor backpacks has set up its European headquarters.

"Jonathan Petty and I have known each other for over 15 years and we have always stayed in touch," said Rob Wylie, Osprey's CEO Europe, in a statement. “I am very confident and trust that his abilities, experience and personality are entirely in line with our company and more particularly, at this stage of brand development."
 
Jonathan Petty was previously brand director of the accessories brand Montane. Prior to that, he spent more than 10 years at Patagonia in commercial and marketing positions. He was also Marketing Director of Salomon between 2000 and 2002.

While the Osprey European headquarters are located in England, the company has no ties to Osprey London, a maker of vintage-inspired luxury handbags and accessories.
