Outdoor Voices opens flagship in NYC

Activewear brand Outdoor Voices has announced that it will open a new flagship store in New York City. 

Located in the Flatiron District at 142 5th Avenue, the new store is set to open on November 29. Marking the brand’s tenth store and second store in New York City, the five-year-old brand’s latest location is nearby the storefronts of fellow upscale athleticwear brands like Lululemon and Athleta. 

"We really wanted to come to Flatiron not only because of the volume of people that are here, but also because of the fitness enthusiasts that have popped up here and all the classes," a spokesperson of the brand said, in an interview with Business Insider.

Inside the store, visitors will find a range of Outdoor Voices product, as well as aesthetic touches inspired by the brand’s home of Austin, Texas, including cacti sourced from West Texas by the Cactus Store.

Past snacks provided by high-end, natural grocer Erewhon, customers can access a ‘discovery zone’ that provides information on the brand’s fabrics, in order to guide shoppers to products that match their daily activities, a brand representative told FashionNetwork.com.

Founded in 2014, Outdoor Voices has grown from being an online brand to having multiple physical locations, and currently entertains an audience of 398,000 followers on Instagram.

In addition to the new Flatiron flagship and the Outdoor Voices store in Soho opened in 2016, the band also operates brick-and-mortar locations in Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Nashville, Dallas, Chicago and Georgetown in Washington, D.C. 

On top of the new flagship, the brand is set to open another new location in Houston, Texas in the near future.
