OVS-owned Piombo opens first store in New York

Opening last Wednesday in New York, Piombo's new U.S. store is covered entirely in a vibrant blue, including the mannequins, and is located at 149 Spring Street, in the heart of the Soho district.

A signature of the Piombo brand, 'Sky Blue' is the brainchild of creative director Massimo Piombo, who also serves as creative director for OVS brands, the Italian fashion retailer.
 
In the 1,550-square-foot boutique, Piombo unveils the graphic and colorful universe of a brand with an accessible positioning, anchored on color and graphics.

"My biggest goal is to inspire and encourage customers to let their imagination run free says Piombo. "Italian style and its infinite variety infuse my creations - art, travel, culture rooted in the beauty of my country. We chose Spring Street as our New York location, a dynamic cosmopolitan setting that encourages exploration and curiosity." 
 
Spring Street is the second boutique opened by the Piombo brand, after the one opened in Italy, in the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo. A third one opened last week in Madrid and the next one will be in Paris next May.

Piombo is part of Italian fashion retail OVS S.p.A, which operates multiple fashion brands including OVS, OVS Kids, Stefanel, Piombo Upim, BluKids, and Croff.

OVS has progressively evolved its business model into a 'phygital' marketplace, serving as a platform also for third party brands. It operates Gap stores in Italy as master franchisee and counts over 2,000 stores in Italy and overseas with net sales of 1,359 million euros in 2021. It was floated on the Italian Stock Exchange in March 2015.
