P&G appoints David S. Taylor as Chairman of the Board of Directors

The Proctor & Gamble Company announced on Wednesday the appointment of David S. Taylor as Chairman of the Board, effective July 1, 2016. He assumes the position in addition to his position as President and CEO, which he was appointed to after the retirement of current Executive Chairman A.G. Lafley, who was named Chairman, President and CEO in 2013.

 
Taylor joined P&G in 1980 and helped build many P&G core businesses including Baby Care, Family Care, Home Care and Hair Care. He also led global businesses and lived and worked in North America, Europe and Asia.
 
Prior to being named CEO, Taylor served as Group President of Global Beauty, Grooming and Health Care and was previously responsible for Family Care and Home Care. Taylor worked closely with Lafley in the past year to strengthen the company’s business and brand portfolio.

Lafley served as CEO from 2000 to 2009 and returned from retirement to serve as CEO again from 2013 to 2015. He served as Executive Chairman from 2015 and led the Board of Directors.
