Pat McGrath is sprinkling her magic on the foundation business.

The celebrity makeup artist and powerhouse creative behind the cult beauty label Pat McGrath Labs has unveiled ‘Sublime Perfection: The System' -- a new trio of products comprising a primer, the label's debut foundation and a setting powder. The "trinity," as the brand calls it, is finally due to launch in July, following 25 years of research.

The system begins with the Sublime Perfection Primer, which is infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid for a smoothing, skin-refining effect. Then comes the foundation, which is available in 36 different shades ranging from light to dark, and promises to nourish and hydrate the skin, as well as help fight the formation of wrinkles by preserving the hydrolipidic film barrier. The setting powder, which will come in five different hues, blurs out fine lines and imperfections, completing the series.

Foundation is a big milestone for the Pat McGrath Labs brand, which has seen huge success since it first hit the scene in 2015, before the star announced the launch of a permanent, 'unlimited' collection spanning lipsticks, lip liners, eyeliners and eyeshadows in 2017.

Over recent years, beauty brands have clamored to satisfy consumer demand for diversity regarding foundation shades: recent examples include Tarte Cosmetics, which unveiled a new 50-shade foundation line earlier this year, and Morphe, which made its entrance into the world of foundation with a 60-strong range of shades back in January.
