Paul Smith and luxury eyewear specialist Cutler and Gross have announced an extension of their relationship with their one-off collaboration that was unveiled earlier this year having turned into a three-year partnership.

The products that launched in May clearly proved to be a success and led to Cutler and Gross saying Wednesday that the new three-year deal would cover design, production and worldwide distribution of Paul Smith eyewear, including sunglasses and optical frames.

All frames will be made by hand at the Cutler and Gross factory in Northern Italy with lenses by French firm Dalloz Creations.

“Cutler and Gross is often referred to as the authority in British eyewear. What better way to celebrate our 50th anniversary than to join forces with the authority in British fashion,” said Graham Cutler, co-founder of the eyewear firm.

The frames will get an official launch to the trade at eyewear fair Mido in Milan next February. The first collection will feature a mix of classic and subtle metal and acetate frames influenced by the Paul Smith brand's traditional colours and tailoring,

Once they launch to consumers, they’ll be available via Paul Smith’s and Cutler and Gross’s own stores as well as a number of other premium locations and optical stores.
