Paul & Shark taps Greg Lauren for collaborative menswear drops

Italian apparel brand Paul & Shark has teamed up with American artist, designer and actor Greg Lauren for a collaborative menswear collection that will be spread over three drops running into June 2020.

The first drop of the collection, which launched on June 3, is made up of seven styles reworking classic Paul & Shark styles through Lauren’s signature deconstructed/reconstructed aesthetic. The pieces include hoodies, a work jacket, two pairs of pants, a peacoat and a beanie, and were all designed and handmade at Lauren’s LA workshop.
 
The collection is being sold at nine top retailers around the world, namely Barneys New York, Kith Miami, L’Eclaireur, H.Lorenzo, Browns, Joyce, Antonioli, Dover Street Market Ginza and Corso Como Seoul.

The second drop will be revealed at a special event held on June 20 during Paris’ menswear fashion week and will go to market in January of next year. The third drop will hit stores in June 2020.

Both the second and the third drop will be made in-house by Paul & Shark.
 
“Greg Lauren has shown great respect and enthusiasm for what Paul & Shark represents and he has managed to create a perfect alchemy between his personal vision and the style of the brand, as well as building a marvellous relationship with our style department,” said Paul & Shark CEO Andrea Dini in a release.
 
Founded in 1976, Paul & Shark currently distributes its men’s, women’s and kids’ collections through 250 monobrand stores in 73 countries around the world. Through its latest collaboration with Lauren it is seeking to “grow its own creative horizons, while keeping intact the values that have always marked the brand since its foundation.”

The nephew of Ralph Lauren, Greg Lauren launched his own namesake label in 2011, quickly gaining a reputation for his unique hybrid, lived-in style. The brand is currently sold at 50 sales outlets around the world.
