Perry Ellis to assume control over businesses in Canada

Perry Ellis International, Inc. announced that it is assuming control of the Perry Ellis men’s bottoms and accessories businesses in Canada. The current license agreement with Grand National Apparel, Inc. for these product categories will end on December 31, 2015.

Perry Ellis expects to leverage its directly operated business by taking control of the men’s bottoms and accessories categories and accelerate growth in Canada. The company will begin shipping its Spring 2016 collection to its retail customers in January 2016.
 
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer George Feldenkreis remarked, "While PEI appreciates the efforts and the fine work of Grand National, this is another step in achieving our strategic initiative to expand our profitable international direct business. Canada is a growing market for our Company and we believe we can leverage our Canadian platform and serve our customer base directly within our core competencies."
