Peru Moda: first European edition in Paris on 22nd October

Published
Oct 20, 2015

The annual Peruvian fashion event has chosen Paris for its first European edition. On 22nd October, the Four Seasons George V hotel will host this first B2B meeting of the Peruvian textile industry.

Fifteen local suppliers will travel to the French capital to showcase their know-how to French and other European professionals. The event is organised by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and the PromPeru agency, and plans to shine the spotlight on fabrics such as alpaca, Pima and Tangüis cotton. The event will be attended by 9 knitwear suppliers, 2 textile manufacturers and 4 alpaca specialists, and will be run in English, French and Spanish.

As well as with its manufacturing quality, Peru also wishes to attract customers through the services offered by the local textile industry. The country benefits from a free trade agreement signed in 2013 with the European Union. This, combined with Peru's 'full package' services, and its widespread CSR and fair trade policies, allowed the country's exports towards Europe to rise by 7% in 2014, reaching nearly $180 million.
