Is it a coincidence that his women’s fall-winter 2014-15 show was called "My American dream”? Today, Philipp Plein has made that dream a reality with the imminent opening of his first store in New York. And he hasn’t chosen just anywhere. The store’s address will be 625 Madison Avenue.

The young German designer, whose ready-to-wear for men, women and children is growing in popularity, continues to expand at the international level while consolidating his presence in the United States, having opened a store last year in Miami and a luxurious showroom overlooking Central Park. Also on the agenda is an opening in Beverly Hills, California.

Plein’s first New York flagship stands at 1,500 square feet, housing the entirety of the brand’s men’s and women’s collections. It was thought up by the designer himself in collaboration with the Milanese architecture firm Aquilialberg.

As with other Philipp Plein stores, the space is characterized by large blocks of marble, stainless steel fittings and impressive Murano glass chandeliers. That’s not to forget Plein’s iconic Swarovski crystal skull, set imposingly at the entrance. The brand’s hexagonal logo, in turn, crops up on the walls, windows and ceilings.
