On February 11, the Paris Good Fashion association (PGF) will publish the results of the public consultation it initiated in September 2020. For Sylvie Bénard, president of the association which aims to make Paris the world’s ethical fashion capital, it will be a key step in the effort to engage the industry's players. Leading labels and many distributors have become involved in the initiative together with PGF, to tap the proposals put forward by the consultation’s participants and speed up the industry’s transformation.

Luxurynsight X FashionNetwork · Episode 30: ‘Sustainability in Fashion & Luxury’ with Sylvie Benard FR

A transformation on which Sylvie Bénard has an exclusive insight. Last year, Bénard set up a sustainability consulting agency called La Dame à la Licorne and, between 1992 and 2020, she was active in steering the LVMH group’s environmental policies as Environment Director. In this FashionNetworkXLuxurynsight podcast (in French), Bénard casts an eye back to when environmental issues first featured on the group’s agenda, and on how, supported by several key figures, she managed to promote progress in this direction. She also offers a few tips to fashion executives on how to adapt their business strategies to changing consumer expectations and future environmental regulations.
