Poler hosts exclusive Schmidt's Naturals launch

Portland, OR-based Poler Outdoor Stuff has teamed up with Schmidt's Naturals to be the exclusive retail destination for a new deodorant that promises to donate a portion of sales to the Surfrider Foundation.

Started in 2011, Poler is an outdoor lifestyle company that was "created to bridge the gap between action sports and traditional outdoor activities." It carries a curated assortment of clothing, accessories and gear. It also is home to collaborations including current ones with Pendleton and Slowtide.

In 2014 Poler made a large retail play in partnership with Urban Outfitters'. It brought its curated men's, women's and children's assortment to a broader consumer base through Urban Outfitters lifestyle focused retail space Without Walls.

Poler currently operates two brick and mortar locations. The brand has flagship stores in Portland, OR and in Laguna Beach, CA. While it has its flagship locations, Poler is as much a social brand as it is an outdoors retailer. Its hashtag is "camp vibes" which has over 1.2 million posts on Instagram.

The latest product addition for Poler is the exclusive launch of Portland, OR-based Schmidt's Naturals' Waves deodorant. Poler will carry both an original and a sensitive skin version of Waves. Schmidt's Naturals has pledged to donate 5% of all sales to the Surfrider Foundation which protects oceans and beaches.

To kick off the launch, Poler is hosting a First Thursday celebration at its Portland flagship. The party is free and open to the public who can try to win raffle prizes as well as participate in the grassroots community building activism of the Surfrider Foundation.

A Poler spokesperson said people can also make donations at the event "to aid Surfrider's fight for the clean water and healthy beaches that are essential for camp vibes."

Following the launch, Surfrider will lead a Portland Action Day beach cleanup on July 11 at Sellwood Riverfront Park.

The two Waves deodorants will retail for $8.99 for the original and $10.99 for sensitive skin. They will be available online and at retail exclusively at Poler in Portland.
