Première Vision Paris show to focus on finished products and innovative fashion tech

On February 12-14, Parisian trade show Première Vision will be hosting 1,782 exhibitors at the Villepinte exhibition centre, featuring a revamped apparel manufacturing/sourcing section, the always rewarding "Maison d’Exception" section, a broader conference programme and a focus on apparel for enhanced human performance at the Wearable Lab.


The event’s edition on February 13-15 2018 attracted 54,500 visitors - Première Vision


The number of exhibitors at the Parisian event’s six shows is growing. “This is encouraging, considering the business environment remains very troubled and unbalanced, from client to client and region to region,” said Première Vision’s General Manager Gilles Lasborde.

“I see this as a willingness by all concerned to be aggressive, to stay on the market and fight,” he added.

The state of the industry led Première Vision to rethink the sections dedicated to finished products under the ‘Manufacturing’ banner, now split into four distinct sections within PV Paris's five exhibition halls.

As usual, the show's winter edition will also feature the Maison d’Exception section, dedicated to rare and exclusive craftsmanship. For the first time, the section will include artisans from the UAE and Cambodia, with a total of 25 ateliers showcasing their expertise for designers and luxury/high-end brands.

In a similar vein, visitors will also enjoy the ‘Fashion in China’ exhibition, and an exhibition dedicated to Japanese textile know-how organised in collaboration with Villa Kujoyama, the institution for cultural cooperation between Europe and Japan.

PV Paris’s rejuvenated exhibitor range translates in 161 new exhibitors across the event's various shows, with 23 new entries at PV Leather, focusing on leather and fur, 27 new studios and academies at the PV Designs show for textile design, and 30 new specialists in textile accessories at PV Accessories.

Performance-boosting textiles and sustainable sourcing

The third edition of the Wearable Lab section, dedicated to fashion technology, will extend over 1,000 square metres in Hall 6 and feature 17 exhibitors working on smart materials, digital tools for the creative industries and state-of-the-art prototyping. They will integrate the Skills² exhibition area, in addition to a conference programme focusing on sportswear, apparel for enhanced human performance and bio-mimetic and other high-tech materials.

The schedule is part of PV Paris’s wider programme of conference and workshops, including a workshop on denim and the usual, must-see presentations on fabric, colour and decoration trends. The French Fashion Institute will present its international sourcing map, paying special attention to eco-sustainability. Leather materials will take centre stage at the Leather Fashion Breakfast events, at various talks by the "Centre Technique du Cuir" (the technical centre for leather), and three round-table discussions on the industry, its employment situation and sustainable growth.

In parallel, Marketplace Première Vision will continue to extend its reach. Launched last September, it enables 2,220 clients to order samples from a range of some 1,500 fabric items. In February, the range will be boosted by the catalogues of PV Leather exhibitors, while waiting for denim manufacturers next May and component and accessories manufactures from PV Accessories in September.
