Two weeks go, Premium Group had tentatively announced dates for its events in January 2021. After consulting with exhibitors, buyers, and partners, the organisers finally decided to cancel trade shows Seek and Premium, as well as conference series Fashiontech, the upcoming editions of which were scheduled to take place in Berlin early next year before they move to Frankfurt. Premium announced that it is now focusing on the first edition of Frankfurt Fashion Week, scheduled for summer 2021.

“After examining the data collected, we realised that, on a personal level, the upcoming trade shows’ participants were overwhelmingly in favour of a physical event that strictly respects health and safety regulations but, from a professional point of view, it unfortunately does not make much sense at the current moment,” said managing partner for the Berlin-based trade shows, Anita Tillmann.

“As long as there are production delays and restrictions on travel and gatherings, we cannot organise trade shows, conferences, and events that meet our requirements as well as those of our exhibitors.”

According to Tillmann, it was a very difficult decision to make. “We did not want to leave Berlin without a proper goodbye,” she said.

The business now plans to look to the future and focus on another event- Frankfurt Fashion Week which will take place in July 2021 in collaboration with Messe Frankfurt, the city of Frankfurt, and the German state of Hessen. Tillmann said that “great things are in the works.”

A press conference is scheduled for the end of November to present the group’s new concepts, partners, and formats planned for the upcoming event. According to Tillmann, preparations are already underway: “We are reactivating our contact with our partners, designers, brands, journalists, respective politicians, and wider society in order to organise a unique and global event.”

In order to meet the expectations from the sector, the organisers are now devoting all of their energy to this, “project for the future.”
