PVH appoints Stefan Larsson to newly created role of president

Stefan Larsson is back. Two years after he was ousted from Ralph Lauren, the Swedish executive has been appointed to the newly created role of president at PVH Corp, effective June 3, according to a press release published by the American fashion group on Tuesday.

In his new position, Larsson will oversee all of PVH Corp's brand and region leaders and will report to group CEO Emanuel Chirico. 

"PVH is an exceptional company and owns some of the most iconic global lifestyle brands. I have long admired what Manny and the PVH management team have achieved, with a history of successful, transformative acquisitions, exceptional brand building, reinvention and innovation, strong operating platforms and connection to its consumers. I look forward to contributing to the power of PVH and partnering with the entire leadership team to drive the business forward," commented Larsson in the company's release.

"Stefan’s talent and operational track record make him a strong addition to the PVH senior management team," stated Chiciro. "He is highly regarded for his strategic focus, proven leadership and global experience in driving transformation and brand building in an increasingly dynamic and ever-changing consumer landscape. Following successful stints at H&M, where he spent close to 15 years, and Gap, where he served as the global president of the group's Old Navy brand for three years, Larsson joined Ralph Lauren in 2015. He would leave the classic American brand after only 18 months, however, with the company's founder citing "different views on how to evolve the creative and consumer-facing parts of this business."

As well as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, PVH's portfolio includes brands such as Speedo, Van Heusen and Izod. The company announced revenues of $9.7 billion in 2018, up 8 % from the previous year.
