A new Quebec-based sustainable fashion brand is about to hit the market. Pioneered by designer Léonie Daignault-Leclerc, Gaia & Dubos is gearing up to launch its first sustainable and ethical high-end garment collection for women on May 5.

The 11-piece collection consisting of 10 garments and one scarf are characterized by a feminine, classic and elegant style.

Daignault-Leclerc surveyed over 400 Quebec women as part of her Masters thesis to understand the wants and needs of Quebec women and to launch a line, which conforms to high environmental and ethical standards.

All items were designed with sustainability in mind. They will be produced on demand to reduce waste, which will also allow consumers to customize their garments when they order. Customizable options will include sleeve length, colour, and the choice of pockets to name a few. Some items will also have transformable components like adjustable waistline and cuffs to offer a variety of looks and a garment that can last the test of time.

All items will be produced in Quebec and entirely made of sustainable materials such as milk fibre, organic cotton, linen, recycled polyester and organic silk.

The official launch will take place at Notman House in Montreal on May 5. The collection will be available to order on Gaiaetdubos.com.
