Quebec fashion industry's Metropolitan Cluster names Debbie Zakaib Executive Director

Mmode - Quebec fashion industry’s metropolitan cluster – recently appointed Debbie Zakaib as its Executive Director. Launched in May 2015, mmode plans to stimulate Quebec fashion industry’s growth and increase its global competitiveness by working with industry stakeholders: creators, manufacturers, wholesale distributors and retailers.
Debbie Zakaib will spearhead the campaign starting January 2016 when she officially assumes her new role. This includes implementing mmode’s business processes, meeting with key industry stakeholders, and conducting strategic planning to help the organization achieve its mission.
François Roberge, Steering Committee President, praised Zakaib’s knowledge and expertise working in the fashion industry. And, of her new appointment, Zakaib said, “I’m extremely honoured and privileged to be entrusted with the role of executive director of the fashion industry’s metropolitan cluster. The organization will act as a catalyst in an industry that holds such great importance in the economic, social and cultural spectrum.”
Debbie Zakaib earned a Masters degree in Marketing from Montreal’s HEC with an emphasis on fashion marketing in Quebec. In the past decade, she has worked with industry heavy-weights including L’Oréal, Coca-Cola and Johnson & Johnson. She also serves on the board of directors of Montreal’s Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain.
mmode was established in May 2015 to stimulate Quebec's fashion industry by serving as the main platform for exchange and collaboration for the industry's ecosystem.
