Quebec's first Saks Off 5th opens this week
On Thursday, the Canadian province of Quebec will welcome its first Saks Off 5th at Place Ste-Foy in Quebec City. The opening is a part of Saks Off 5th’s North American expansion plan to open up to 25 locations across Canada by 2018.
The off-price retailer is also expected to open four other Canadian stores before the end of May, bringing the retailers Canadian store count to 14. The expansion has been rapid considering that Saks Off 5th entered Canada just last year.
The retailer will also open another Saks Off 5th in Quebec this summer at CF Galeries d’Anjou in Montreal. A location at Premium Outlets Montreal has also been announced.
For the opening at Place Ste-Foy on Thursday, Saks has snagged Montreal-based TV host Maripier Morin who will be on-site to meet with shoppers and host the store’s official ribbon cutting.
“We’re excited to continue the Canadian expansion of Saks Off 5th with the grand opening of our first store in Quebec,” says Jonathan Greller, President, Saks Off 5th and Gilt. “Quebec City shoppers will now have convenient access to designer brands at an exceptional value that Saks Off 5th is known for.”
The store is expected to be 33,000 square feet.
