RM Williams arrives in New York

RM Williams has opened its first New York store. The Australian boot and apparel maker has landed in the fashion district of Soho, marking the firm's first foray into the U.S.

Located at 152 Spring Street, the new boutique features a timber shop front, a long boot display table with copper plaiting and a steel framework for product to hang on, inspired by traditional stockyard fencing. The flagship store also features leather wall panelling and flooring to emulate the red earth of the Australian outback.

Further emphasising the Aussie terrain, RM Williams tapped Danish artist Mika Popov to design a mural wall for the new store.

"Bringing the essence of the Australian landscape to New York, Mika has drawn inspiration from the natural light of the Australian outback to create a one of a kind sculpture reflecting an aerial view of the outback as the focal point of the store design," said RM Williams, on its website.

An official opening was held at the New York flagship onTuesday night with an after party at La Sirena Ristorante.
