Rapper Travis Scott will collaborate with Helmut Lang

Designer Helmut Lang has aligned himself with rapper Travis Scott for an off-beat collaboration. The nineteen-piece collection will debut January 30th.

Prices will start at $175 for a t-shirt and top out at $1,715 for a leather jacket. Scott teased an image of one of the sneakers (priced at $395) on his Instagram, which will feature both Helmut Lang and Travis Scott branding on the black low-top sneaker.

Travis Scott has become quite the darling of the fashion world. For recent campaigns, Saint Laurent, Puma, and Alexander Wang have all tapped Scott as their muse. He has walked the runway for both Mark McNairy and Givenchy at fashion. The rapper himself has launched a 60-piece collection to go along with the release of his new album.

The collection will launch just as Scott is heading out on tour, a strategic PR move that will help promote ticket sales. Both Kanye West and Justin Bieber have been known to launch both pop-up shops and city-specific apparel collections prior to concerts to help create buzz around the events.

All pieces from the Travis Scott X Helmut Lang limited-edition collection will be available via Helmut Lang’s e-commerce site, as well as at several brick-and-mortar locations. Barneys New York and Selfridges will also stock the collection.
