River Island brings back annual design forum with Tourne de Transmission

High street fashion retailer River Island is bringing back its annual design forum, this time tapping menswear label Tourne de Transmission. The up-and-coming brand will release a limited edition collection with River Island.
The collection will channel Tourne de Transmissions’s Tokyo-streetwear inspired aesthetic, using materials like cotton, canvas, linen, and denim. The London-based brand created a 14-piece collection for the retailer, including plaid flannel jackets, denim jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, and longer outercoats. Prices start at $50 for a t-shirt and will top out at $140 for a kimono-inspired overcoat.
Tourne de Transmission launched in 2012 with a line of graphic t-shirts. They branched out to full menswear collections two years ago, with this coming London Men’s Fashion Week marking the brand’s fourth ready-to-wear collection.
In the past, River Island has tapped many other up-and-coming fashion labels for the design forum collaborative collections, including the likes of Lou Dalton, Christopher Shannon, YMC, Sibling, Zoe Jordan, Eudon Choi, and Jean-Pierre Braganza. Just this past December, River Island brought in graphic designer Margot Bowman, who has previously worked with the likes of Lacoste, Nike, Topshop, Alexander McQueen, and Urban Outfitters, for a collection as part of the design forum.
The collection is now available at select River Island locations and via the brand’s e-commerce site.
