Gucci is losing a key manager with the departure of Robert Triefus. Kering's flagship label has confirmed to FashionNetwork.com that its senior executive vice president for corporate and brand strategy will leave the company on April 30 "to pursue another professional opportunity." The manager is leaving after fifteen years with the Italian company, where he has taken on a series of responsibilities in recent years.

After nine years as vice president of international communications for Giorgio Armani, Robert Triefus joined Gucci in 2008 as director of global marketing and communications. Four years later, he became vice president in charge of marketing management before becoming executive vice president in charge of brand and consumer engagement in 2018.

At the beginning of 2022, Gucci Americas CEO Susan Chokachi resumed her role as executive vice president, brand and customer, while Robert Triefus was promoted to Gucci's senior executive vice president, brand strategy and corporate organization. From November 2022, this role was combined with that of managing director of the Gucci Vault platform and metavers ventures, overseeing Gucci's evolution, strategies and activities on the Web3.

The company, which is in a transitional phase following the recent appointment of new creative director Sabato De Sarno, who will unveil his first collection in September, has not yet indicated whether the manager will be replaced or whether this departure will lead to an internal reorganisation.

"Robert has played a fundamental role in enabling the company to be recognised for its leadership in approaching its customer and brand engagement, and more recently in approaching new business initiatives by capitalising on Gucci's unique DNA and values, always with an eye to change and innovation," said Gucci in a statement.
