Rue La La taps Project Runway's Erin Robertson for new boutique
Rue La La has tapped Erin Robertson to curate and model for the online members-only website's latest boutique.
Best known as the winner of Season 15 of Project Runway, Robertson's curated collection features apparel and accessories true to her bubbly and fun persona. Pieces include a mini Fendi studded backpack for $2,100 and Hutch dresses around the $100 price point.
"Erin is cool – plain and simple! From the makeup choices to fashion selects to set creation, each step of the collaboration was vibrant and lively," said John Camilleri, Executive Creative Director, Rue La La.
"She exudes confidence – which is everything our brand embodies. Perfect fit!"
Robertson is known for her playful styles including giant sequins and bright colors. The backdrop for the boutique photography features hand-painted bananas and was produced by Rue La La's in house studio creative team.
Boston-based Robertson shared some additional insight on her partnership with Rue La La and her future as a designer.
When asked why she partnered with Rue La La, she said: "It's hard to say what I love most about Rue La La! Super-fun handbags, sassy heels and classy clothes...not to mention the custom set they painted just for me."
Rue La La is also ranked #8 on Internet Retailer's 2016 Mobile 500 List. As e-commerce takes over the fashion industry, it's an intelligent move for Robertson to partner up with the heavy hitting e-tailer. Going forward, Robertson is building her e-commerce business and brand online. She anticipates rolling out a sustainable fashion line.
She explained, "I think the future of fashion is being conscious and aware of where your stuff comes from. It’s all about educating the consumer and starting those conversations. Fashion is a way you can get people interested in the topic."
The Erin Robertson boutique is currently open on Rue La La and will remain open until Wednesday April 19th at 11am.
