Rupaul star Miss Fame launches cosmetics range

Miss Fame, a drag queen known for her her appearance on television show Rupaul's Drag Race and for her makeup looks, has launched a makeup line called Miss Fame Beauty that currently features five lipstick colours and an “experimental glitter”.

Kurtis Dam-Mikkelsen, aka Miss Fame, launched Miss Fame Beauty on September 28 on day one of RuPaul’s Drag Con NYC. A dedicated e-commerce store was also launched for the brand on the same day.

“This has been a journey and a dream come true,” wrote Dam-Mikkelsen on his Miss Fame Instagram account on Sunday night in a post with over 16,000 likes. “3 days into my launch & you’ve all been so incredibly supportive.”

The debut Miss Fame Beauty collection features five lipsticks that retail at $19. The shades are named 'Flash of Flesh', 'How’s your Head?', 'Fame Whore', 'The Other Woman', and 'Dirty Couture', perhaps the collection’s most striking shade in metallic midnight blue. The lipsticks are also available as a complete collection for $95. An “experimental glitter” called On Top is also available and is a lavender-hued glitter designed to be layered on top of any one of the lipsticks in the collection.

Dam-Mikkelsen competed on season seven of the TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race as Miss Fame in 2014. Dam-Mikkelsen has subsequently released an album and has toured extensively, also teaching makeup classes. Miss Fame Beauty launched on the first day of RuPaul’s Drag Con New York, a trade fair for drag queens and related products that ran in New York from September 28 to 30 and will return to Los Angeles next spring.
