RW&CO taps star-studded Canadian cast for fall 2019 campaign

RW&CO has teamed up with a star-studded cast from across Canada for its fall 2019 campaigns.

Starting with the Canadian retailer’s fall 2019 suiting campaign, the firm enlisted Hockey big names Morgan Rielly (Toronto Maple Leafs), Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg Jets), Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames), and Phillip Danault (Montreal Canadiens) as the new faces.

The campaign aims to highlight the brand's promise of versatile apparel and plays up the performance attributes of its latest line of suits with an athlete-approved collection.

It’s not the first time the men's and women's fashion retailer has teamed up with NHL stars. The company snagged Ottawa Senators captain, Erik Karlsson, as its suiting ambassador for fall 2018. Prior to that, it teamed up with P.K. Subban for its fall 2016 Suiting Collection, who equally helped design the collection.

"It's so inspiring to see such hockey icons wearing our performance suits," said Lora Tisi, president of RW&CO, in a news statement.

It is the first time the retailer is joining forces with a team of female ambassadors, however. The Canadian muses include Tessa Virtue, famed Olympic ice skater; Ashley Callingbull, Mrs. Universe 2015, First Nation's activist, actress and model; and Karine Vanasse, award-winning Quebec actress.

"I mean, for us, this is a game-changer," said Tisi. "The whole idea of women empowering each other is such a critical element of the entire campaign."

The women's campaign boasts its own philanthropic initiative, #RWGIVES, where all three ambassadors will be giving back a portion of their campaign proceeds to the charity of their choice.

The fall 2019 collections are now available online and in-store.

RW&CO is a division of Reitmans (Canada) Limited. The company currently operates 594 stores consisting of 259 Reitmans, 115 Penningtons, 80 Addition Elle, 82 RW & CO. and 58 Thyme Maternity.
