RYU launches capsule collection series with artists
Canadian athletic brand RYU Apparel Inc. is teaming up with local artists on a series of capsule collections.
Dubbed “Respect”, the first capsule collection highlights four local New York artists in celebration of the brand’s latest flagship opening in Williamsburg.
The collection includes four graphic tees and sweatshirts featuring the word "Respect," designed by artists Futura, CES, WANE, and Stash in each artist's signature aesthetic.
"Each of these artists bring something different to their community and we couldn't be happier to be partnering with them. We are looking forward to continuing this project as we expand within the U.S.," said CEO, Marcello Leone, in a news statement.
RYU said its next artist series will drop exclusively at the RYU Venice Beach location and will be followed by iterations in other US locations. The Venice Beach capsule collection will be designed by LA based artists, Eklipse, Push, Trav, and Rime.
The Vancouver-based company hopes the collaborations will reinforce its dedication to its local community and help build relationships with consumers.
RYU recently launched a North American expansion. It opened it first U.S. retail store location in August in Venice, California, and officially opened the doors of its flagship store in Williamsburg, New York this week.
Meanwhile, its up-coming U.S. store openings are planned for Brooklyn, New York, and Newport Beach, California.
