Safilo confirms Luisa Delgado as new CEO

Luisa Delgado has been appointed chief executive officer at the world’s second largest manufacturer and distributor of sunglasses and optical frames. As announced in June, Delgado takes over from Roberto Vedovotto, driving force behind the company since 2009. Vedovotto will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Until July 2013, Luisa Delgado was head of human resources at German computing giant SAP AG where she also sat on the global executive board. She was also a non-executive member of the board at Safilo.

Prior to that, Delgado held 21-year tenure at Procter & Gamble in various international positions, including vice-president and CEO of the Nordic region. The exec studied at the Université de Genève and obtained a master’s degree from King’s College/University of London.
