Saks to open men’s store at Brookfield Place in 2017

Hudson’s Bay Company announced on Friday its plans to open a Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Store at Brookfield Place in downtown Manhattan in spring 2017.

The 16,750-square-foot Men’s Store will be a showcase of Saks' new mens business strategy. All product categories will be represented in store, as well as special services and amenities like bespoke tailoring and personal shopping.

The new Men’s Store will compliment the 85,000-square-foot Saks Fifth Avenue store that will anchor Brookfield Place when it opens in the summer of 2016. The Saks location will not carry men’s merchandise and will focus solely on women’s categories.

In addition, the company plans to move its US headquarters to Brookfield Place by August 2016.

"Building a free-standing Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Store at the crossroads of the U.S. Financial Market and New York City's burgeoning downtown fits perfectly with our vision to expand our leadership position in the luxury space," said Marc Metrick, President, Saks Fifth Avenue. "We look forward to creating a tailored experience for our customers in a dedicated environment, filled with authoritative merchandising assortments."
