Salon International de la Lingerie enters a new era with WSN

Changes have been made for the next edition of the Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfilière Paris, which was taken over by WSN Développement this summer. In fact, January 2023 will be the first event to be entirely organised by the new team and, above all, it marks a real return to physicality at this time of year after three years of absence.

At the helm of the two events, alongside Frédéric Maus, WSN's general manager and Eurovet's CEO since June 2022, Matthieu Pinet, founder of Exposed Paris, is now the general manager of the two shows dedicated to the lingerie industry.

"The idea is to make a real change for the Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfilière Paris under the aegis of WSN," Matthieu Pinet told FashionNetwork.com. The lingerie market is dynamic and yet, from season to season, we were seeing a weakening of the events. I have always considered lingerie as a fashion product and I can only be delighted with this partnership with the Who's Next fashion show, its teams and its skills."

To carry out the reorganisation, which started this summer, a lot of work has been done on the layout of the show, located in Hall 4, in partnership with the leading brands. 400 exhibitors have responded for this edition for both shows, including 250 brands that will be at the International Lingerie Show. "All the big names are present (Andrès Sarda, Aubade, Chantelle, Empreinte, Lise Charmel, Marie Jo, Simone Pérèle, Wacoal...) and some are making a comeback like Calida and Hanro, Love Stories Intimate," confides Matthieu Pinet. "Ticket sales are more than encouraging and we will exceed the number of exhibitors compared to January 2020."

Modernised and redesigned, the new scenography was taken on by the Costa-Molinos Studio, which already operates on Première Classe. The objective: to shake up the codes, bring novelty, but above all to offer a real coherence between the two essential shows of the Lingerie sector. In fact, set up as a small city, the scenography is sculptural and colourful with monumental events througout the show, creating a dialogue between the different spaces.

"Everything has been rethought: the emblematic brands are present at the entrance, while the creative worlds, including Exposed, are at the heart of the show," explains Matthieu Pinet. "For the first time, a single forum will offer product and material trends to provide complete fashion information from the fabric to the finished product and to highlight the trends for the Winter 2023/2024 and Summer 2024 seasons. This forum is located at the border between the two shows to better link the two. This is a first and will create a real synergy! There is also a fashion show and conference area, a lively place to exchange, installed next to Interfilière Paris."

This should make its mark. Accompanied by ATO Agency, the show has chosen to offer a new approach to the famous lingerie fashion show. "With the agency, which specialises in supporting young designers, we decided to do away with the catwalk in favour of a real pathway, therefore renewing how visitors watch the fashion show," says Matthieu Pinet. "This will of course come as a surprise, but it is necessary in order to evolve and increase the intensity of these events."

In addition to the brands and exhibitors, the event will feature a unique programme of activities, events, workshops and conferences to decipher trends, encourage meetings, stimulate creative exchanges and business opportunities.

Another advantage for visitors: the entry badge will allow access to all four trade fairs taking place simultaneously at Porte de Versailles, namely: Who's Next, Impact, Bijorhca (which WSN has been organising for Boci since May 2021) and the Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfilière Paris.

"This new event, from Saturday 21 to Monday 23 in January 2023, combining so many trade fairs, will provide a strong growth boost for concept stores," concludes Matthieu Pinet. "All the synergies will fall into place over the course of the editions and offer a new dynamic to the January shows."
