Sephora opens first small-format 'Studio' boutique in Boston
Sephora on Friday opened Sephora Studio, its first small-format concept store, in Boston on 88 Newbury Street.
The new 2,000-square-foot boutique follows the opening of Sephora’s largest North American retail location in New York City. The cosmetics company introduced the Studio format to develop personalized connections in an intimate setting. Sephora in March opened a similar concept store in France.
The Sephora Studio has numerous features, including on-demand one-on-one services, custom 15-minute, 45-minute and 75-minute makeovers, digital tools like the Moisture Meter and Skincare IQ, and omnichannel product delivery options Order in Store and Same Day Pick Up.
“The Studio merges the best of an inclusive neighborhood retail environment with best-in-class digital tools that enable our expert beauty advisors to customize recommendations on an individual basis," said Calvin McDonald, President and CEO of Sephora Americas.
In addition, the new boutique allows clients to test and try makeup, skincare, hair care and fragrance from brands such as Nars, Bobbie Brown, Drybar, Fresh, Kat Von D, and Bumble and bumble among others.
McDonald added, “In today’s retail environment where very little is constant and clients’ expectations are ever-evolving, one thing has remained true for Sephora: there is no better way to create meaningful connections with clients than through personalized experiences and a customized approach to beauty. We could not be more focused on that notion than we are with the opening of Sephora Studio."
