Virgil Abloh died on November 28, of cancer after privately battling the disease for several years. Abloh was menswear creative director of Louis Vuitton since March 2018, and founder of the luxury sportswear label Off-White.
Since his passing, Abloh has been celebrated in a number of ways. In April, the Fondation Louis Vuitton unveiled the 'Coming of Age' exhibition, created in loving memory and honour of the designer.
Next month, Louis Vuitton will also launch its collaborative Nike Air Force 1, designed by Abloh himself. All 47 editions of Abloh's AF1 will star in an exhibition, which will again pay homage to the late Abloh's legacy, while sharing the know-how behind each creation.
