Shinola opens second NYC store in Brooklyn

Shinola has opened its second New York City store on 49 Water Street in Brooklyn. The Detroit-based company first informed FashionNetwork.com of the store opening in February 2016 at New York Fashion Week: Men’s.

 
Designed in collaboration with New York City-based design studio Gachot Studios, the 2,651-square-foot Brooklyn store houses the full Shinola product offering, including timepieces, leather goods, and journals, as well as a Smile To Go counter and the Willard customizable watch bar program. The new Dumbo store also marks the leather goods and accessories brand’s first Brooklyn retail location.
 
To coincide with the store opening that was on MLB’s Jackie Robinson Day (April 15), Shinola launched a limited-edition Jackie Robinson watch for its Great Americans series. The leather goods manufacturer also honored the Wright Brothers, Henry Ford and Muhammad Ali for its Great Americans series.

Shinola currently operates 20 stores in the US in its home city of Detroit, New York City, Washington DC, Minneapolis, Chicago, Plano, TX, Ann Arbor, MI, Portland, Miami, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Venice, Orlando, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Boston, King of Prussia, PA, and Auburn Hills, MI, as well as one store in Toronto and one store in London.

The company will open its third New York City store in SoHo and fourth Michigan store in Troy this April, and stores in Denver, Dallas Chicago, Mclean, VA, Byron Center, MI, Columbus, OH, and Oakbrook, Il in 2017.
