Shoes.com ceases all operations

Vancouver-based online retailer Shoes.com announced on Friday that it has shut down operations.

As of Friday, all three of the company’s e-commerce properties - Shoes.com, OnlineShoes.com and ShoeME.ca – went offline. The company has equally closed its two brick-and-mortar stores in Vancouver and Toronto, which they opened just last year.

In Canada, shoes.com operates online as SHOEme.ca. They bought the American company Shoes.com in 2014. They carried a selection of over 500 brands and served over 8 million customers across the USA and Canada.

In the past, Shoes.com was recognized as a top performing ecommerce company. They were awarded the Ecommerce Experience Award by the Retail Council of Canada in 2016.

The Company says they are currently working with its secured lenders to liquidate assets and intends to assign some or all of the group companies into bankruptcy.
