Shoppers Drug Mart launches the Beauty Clinic

Canadian pharmacy retailer Shoppers Drug Mart is once again improving its beauty offering with the launch of the Beauty Clinic dedicated to cosmetic dermatology. 

 
Dubbed the Beauty Clinic by Shoppers Drug Mart, the pilot store will provide one-on-one consultations and perform select cosmetic dermatology services and treatments like cosmetic injections, dermal fillers, microdermabrasion, peels and a variety of laser services. 
 
Shopper’s first Beauty Clinic opened last month in Oakville, Ontario, while the company plans to open a second location in Toronto in the Shops at Don Mills this year.

"With our expertise in both the health and beauty business, offering cosmetic treatments feels like a natural step for us,” explained Rachel Huckle, Senior Vice President, Shoppers Drug Mart.

“At the Beauty Clinic, customers can go beyond the beauty counter to a truly holistic luxury beauty experience." 
 
The cosmetic dermatology market in Canada is currently expected to almost double in the next five years. 
 
"Our research shows these types of cosmetic procedures are second only to manicures and pedicures," added Huckle.

The pharmacy chain has been refining its beauty offering since last year including with the launch of a new e-commerce platform, becoming Canada’s largest online beauty shopping destination.
 
The online platform houses cosmetics and a range of luxury beauty products. 
 
Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation operates more than 1,300 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores across the country, as well as four luxury beauty destinations operating as Murale, and other retail operations.
