Simon unveils more plans for Shops at Riverside renovation

Simon Property Group this month unveiled the second phase of its renovations on The Shops at Riverside.
 

The second phase, which will be completed by the holiday season, will consist of interior and exterior redesigns, including a new entrance, skylights, raised ceilings, new floor tiles and a Bohemian crystal chandelier. Firm 5+design will serve as design architect for the mall, and IMC will serve as the general contractor on the project.
 
Simon added that the first phase of redevelopment will conclude in the summer and the third phase will include a redevelopment of the south mall. The shops will be reconfigured to create a “luxury loop” with the Grand Court as its focal point.

The retail real estate company is currently redeveloping The Westchester, The Galleria in Houston, La Plaza Mall, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, Allen Premium Outlets and Toronto Premium Outlets.

It plans to open six new projects in 2017 including The Shops at Clearfolk and Norfolk Premium Outlets in the US and international projects Provence Designer Outlet in France; Siheung Premium Outlets in Seoul; Genting Highlands Premium Outlets in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Premium Outlet Collection Edmonton IA in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
