Simons launches first private label collection

Canadian retailer Simons is set to launch its first private label designer collection on March 15, and it is Montreal-based designer Marie-Eve Lecavalier who will reap the benefits.

The award-winning designer has created a womenswear collection - Lecavalier + Edito - comprised of dresses, skirts, tops, pantsuits and jackets, as well as footwear and jewelry.
 
The line is full of late 1960s and 70s nostalgia with a vibrant colour palette of gold, pink, orchid petal and periwinkle blue. The collection, ranging from $30 to $595, is one of few that Lecavalier has shared since quietly launching her own line two years ago. 
 
Lecavalier received international attention last year when she took home the prestigious Chloé Prize at the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography. Most recently, her designs hit the runway during Paris Fashion Week and was nominated as a finalist for the LVMH Prize.

The strategic partnership is fitting for Simons, as the company has long been committed to supporting Canadian creativity; from partnerships with Canadian artists like Douglas Coupland, to selling emerging Canadian brands in-store. 
 
The family-owned fashion retailer from Quebec City is one of Quebec’s biggest retail success stories. Most recently, it launched Fabrique1840, and online platform, which features an all-Canadian line up of artisans offering everything from home décor and modern art to fashion accessories and stationary.

It currently operates 15 stores across Canada including locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Mississauga, Ontario’s Square One Shopping Center, and Ottawa.

The collection launches this week and will be available until September 2019 via Simons' online store and at nine Simons retail locations across Canada.
