Skechers names Park Seo Joon as Asia region brand ambassador
Skechers has named South Korean actor Park Seo Joon as its regional brand ambassador for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Macau.
The actor will front the 2021/22 campaigns in these markets, starting with the launch of a key campaign for Skechers D'Lites 4.0 collection featuring its best-selling styles. The first video campaign with Park is titled 'Find Your New Comfort Zone with Skechers' and will launch November 1. Other media and marketing platforms include namely television, print, online, social media, as well as in-store and outdoor advertising.
Park is recognized for his roles in series such as 'Kill Me, Heal Me', 'What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim', 'Itaewon Class', and 'Record of Youth'. He is equally expected to play a role in the upcoming 'The Marvels' film launching November 2022.
The six markets are key growth areas for the brand, while Park Seo Jun’s personal style aligns with Skechers’ vision of ultimate comfort with style.
"With the need to connect with Skechers' consumers across six different markets, having an ambassador with broad appeal is paramount. Park certainly ticks all the boxes for us," said Cedrick Tan, Skechers SVP, Greater China and Southeast Asia/regional head Hong Kong.
“I feel very honoured and happy to be the new Skechers Regional Brand Ambassador. Shoes are important for people like me, who are always on the move. I can’t wait to share my favourite Skechers looks with everyone and hope all of you will like them too,” added Park.
Skechers has previously teamed up with South Korean brand ambassadors including boyband EXO, the now disbanded girl group SISTAR and rapper Zico, as well as Bruneian actor and singer, Wu Zun. Most recently, the company also brought on board Lawrence Wong as its brand ambassador for Singapore.
