Sole global supplier of Iridium jewelry expands production facility
Mar 10, 2016
American Elements, LA based materials supplier with relationships with NASA, Apple, and other tech giants, has announced its production facility in Salt Lake City will expand to increase output of iridium rings, wedding bands and bracelets.
American Elements is the sole global producer of defect free high purity 24 karat iridium rings, necklaces and bracelets for high fashion jewelry.
American Elements uses patented technology to produce iridium jewelry that does not require casting, since iridium melts at above a smoldering 4,400 degrees Farenheit, a temperature way above the range of what jewelers cast regular gold and other metals.
"The process was originally developed as part of our space program for NASA and private space contractors," said Linda Langford, a company spokesperson.
Every piece of iridium jewelry is custom and made to order from the company’s website. A size 4, 2mm traditional iridium band hits a price point of just under $1,750.
