Spain's Cuplé opens first London store

Spanish fashion retailer Cuplé has opened its inaugural UK store in the upmarket Notting Hill area of London.

The retailer, which was founded in 1984, has signed a 10-year lease for the 1,046 ft² store, which opened last week. It has 100 stores worldwide and is planning further expansion. In London, it's looking for more stores in Marylebone High Street, the King’s Road and Covent Garden.

Peter Flint, associate in Savills Central London retail team, which advised Cuplé, comments: “This was an ideal location for Cuplé’s first London store, benefiting from a premium nearby retail offer and good footfall from the surrounding residential areas and high visitor numbers to Notting Hill. Cuplé is a fast growing international brand with ambitious expansion plans and we look forward to helping to secure them further stores in London.”

Savills' research shows that so far this year, there have been nine new international retailers that have opened in London, with a further eleven set to open by the ebd of the year.
