Speedo to launch Missy Franklin swim collection this fall

Speedo USA announced on Wednesday the new Missy Franklin Signature Series designed in collaboration with Speedo athlete and five-time Olympic medalist Missy Franklin.

 
The Missy Franklin Signature Series is inspired by the drive and energy of young female athletes like the 21-year-old swimmer. The collection consists of 18 one-piece suits and mix-and-match separates for women and girls made with chlorine-resistant fabric on both the inside and outside of the suit. The pieces also feature one of Franklin’s favorite mottos, “With strength and dignity…” inscribed on the suits’ leg openings and underside of the bottom band of the two-piece tops.
 
“Even as a child, I always hoped to one day create my own line of swimwear. Seeing this collection with Speedo USA come to life over the last year has been a dream come true,” said Franklin. “Speedo USA has been an incredible partner in helping me to create a line of swimwear I love and, having tested the suits myself in rigorous training sessions, I am completely confident in putting my name behind this line. I can’t wait to see these suits hit the pool decks later this year.”

Franklin debuted in the Summer Olympic Games in London in 2012 at the age of 17. She won five medals at the games, four of which were gold, and she holds the world record in the 200-meter backstroke and American records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke.
 
The Speedo USA Missy Franklin Signature Series will be available in late 2016 after the 2016 Summer Olympics, and prices will range from $69 for one-piece suits and $24 to $34 for two-piece separates.
