Startup Fashion Week Returns to Montreal July 2

The Montreal edition of Startup Fashion Week (SFW) is set to kick off on July 2 with a new four-day programming that combines all things fashion, business and technology.

The multi-city fashion week event originating in Toronto in 2014, and growing into Montreal just last year, will host more than 15 speakers, offer networking opportunities, include local vendors and present runway shows from 12 emerging brands.

Running until July 5, an opening party will kick-start the event on Tuesday and will be followed by a forum on Gender and Fashion on day two.

On day three, the Business of Fashion Conference will host top industry speakers talking marketing, PR and influencers. The day will end with a networking rooftop event.

Finally, on day four, SFW will lend its platform to emerging brands to host a runway show. It will feature 12 promising Canadian fashion startups including ready-to-wear, accessories, genderless lingerie, bespoke womenswear and outerwear collections from the likes of Atelier Melia, Entin Gartini, and Furlux, to name a few.

Designers are representing Canadian talent from Montreal, Toronto, Windsor and Saskatoon.

SFW expanded to Montreal last year, and will soon be offering an event this summer in Vancouver, for the first time.

The event, conceived in 2014 by Founder and Executive Producer Jodi Goodfellow, aims to help stimulate the growth of Montreal’s emerging creatives and small businesses.

“Providing a multi-city fashion week platform breaks all sorts of barriers and I love seeing how united the fashion industry becomes during our events. Representation from various cities and provinces really does change the potential for opportunities and authentically brings Canadian fashion a much needed platform,” explained Jodi Goodfellow, in a new statement.
