Stokomani names Damien Defforey as president
Distribution specialist, Damien Defforey has been named the new president of Stokomani. The former CEO of C&A France will succeed Nicolas Bertrand as head of the fashion clearance company, which was recently acquired by the Zouari family.
“I would like to thank Nicolas Bertrand for all the work he has done for Stokomani over the past two years, and I am very pleased to welcome Damien Defforey as president of Stokomani," said Moez-Alexandre Zouari. Defforey has extensive experience in distribution, which he will have to rely on to develop the Stokomani brand, and we wish him every success in expanding and developing the brand. He will also be able to count on Stokomani teams that are fully committed and ready to take up any challenge.”
The retail chain carries 12,000 budget-friendly fashion items, beauty products, home décor, toys, seasonal products, food and gardening tools and has 130 stores ranging from 900 to 3,000 square meters. Stokomani generated more than half a billion euros in sales in 2019.
The company will rely on the expertise of its new president to continue growing. Defforey, CEO of C&A France from 2018 to early 2022, began his career in 1997 at Carrefour, where he notably developed the business in Poland. In 2007, he became head of the retail giant's textile division. After launching a baby and children’s apparel company in Poland, he went on to chair and direct Primark Italy.
