Sundance opens store in Deer Park, Illinois, to open two more stores by end of the year

The apparel and lifestyle retailer Sundance has opened a store in Deer Park town center, Illinois, and plans to open at two more locations by the end of 2018. The store officially opened on October 11.

The womenswear and menswear apparel and lifestyle retailer Sundance has opened its latest store on North Rand Road in Deer Park, Illinois. The store is the second of four store openings the brand has planned for 2018 and is located in an open-air lifestyle center in Deer Park’s town center.

The store opened its doors to the public on October 11 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. "We are truly excited to introduce the first Sundance store in the Chicago area, and could not be more pleased to have selected Deer Park, a beautiful and growing community,” said Matey Erdos, the CEO of Sundance, in a press release. “We feel Deer Park is a perfect fit for the brand for its mutual appreciation in celebrating authenticity and artistic expression."

Sundance, which was founded by Robert Redford in 1989, has a strong artisanal connection and will donate a portion of the revenue from the store opening to 3Arts, a local NGO that works to advocating for Chicago's female artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities. "Identifying a like-minded art organization in the Chicago area that supports and celebrates the spirit of independence and diversity by offering a platform for creative expression, is true to our heritage and close to our heart,” said Erdos. “We are excited to partner with 3Arts in support of their tireless efforts to sustain and promote artists in the Chicago metropolitan area."

The brand plans to continue to expand across America over the next few years. Sundance currently has a presence in Arizona, Texas, California, Georgia, Kansas, Oregon, Tennessee, and Minnesota.
