Supreme launches collection with Missoni

Streetwear giant Supreme is teaming up with Italian luxury label Missoni on a vibrant collection for fall, set to launch across North America on Thursday.

The collection combines Missoni's signature knitwear with Supreme’s street style to offer bomber jackets, hooded sweatshirts and bucket hats. Items mix quilting and zig-zag print, and
bear the name of both brands where it can not be missed, for a classic street-ready aesthetic that’s also sophisticated.

Missoni began in a small knitwear studio, opened by newly married couple Ottavio Missoni and Rosita Jelmini. Ottavio began creating tracksuits for athletes competing in the 1948 Olympics in London, where he first met Rosita who’s family specialized in shawls and embroidery. Together, they developed the lightweight knits that would become Missoni’s signature.

Earlier this year, Angela Missoni stepped down as creative director after 24 years in the role. The decision was part of a reorganisation and relaunch plan started in 2018, following Italian investment fund Fondo Strategico Italiano (FSI)'s acquisition of a 41.2 percent stake in the company. She remains with the company as president.

Supreme is no stranger to collaborating with impactful brands. Previously, it partnered with The North Face and Levi’s, while most recently it announced a jewelry collaboration with Tiffany and Co. Meanwhile, Missoni most recently collaborated with Tumi on a collection of travel accessories, as well as with cool urban label, Palm Angels.

The Supreme X Missoni collection will be available in North America and Europe via the Supreme webstore. A release in Asia is planned soon after, on November 20.
