Swarovski announces NYFW partnerships

Swarovski has announced its line-up of collaborations and partnerships for this season of New York Fashion Week. Fourteen different designers will work with the Austrian crystal business to show their Fall/Winter 2017 collections.

Both 2016 CFDA Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent winner Brandon Maxwell is a partner for the project, and 2016 Woolmark Prize winner Gabriela Hearst will use Swarovski’s expansive range of crystals in runway looks. The jewelry giant will also support the Jeremy Scott, Sachin and Babi, Sally LaPointe, Sandy Liang, Brock Collection, Cinq à Sept, Dion Lee, Alexander Wang, and Adeam shows.

Three brands - Rosie Assoulin, Tome, and Creatures of the Wind - were selected to show this year as part of the Swarovski Collective, a program that supports designers both financially and through crystal product support.

The Swarovski Collective was born in 1999, after Swarovski collaborated with Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow. The program pushes designers to use Swarovski’s signature crystals to explore all the creative possibilities of crystals.

Over 150 designers have worked with Swarovski over the course of the project, including Iris Van Herpen, Hussein Chalayan, Anthony Vaccarello, Viktor & Rolf, Christopher Kane, Erdem, and many more.
