Swiss outdoor brand Mammut announces departure of CEO

Rolf Schmid, who has been CEO of Mammut Sports Group for over 15 years, is leaving his role to pursue new opportunities outside the company.

The Swiss producer of outdoor equipment and clothing has already begun the search for a suitable successor.

Schmid will continue to carry out his function as CEO in collaboration with the management team until a successor is appointed. After that he will continue to serve Conzzeta, the owner of Mammut, in a consultative capacity.

Ernst Bärtschi, Chairman of the board of directors of Conzzeta commented: "Rolf G. Schmid has helped establish Mammut as a strong and successful brand. He has been behind spectacular marketing campaigns that have had a great impact in the industry and beyond. We are grateful that Rolf G. Schmid joined the brand dedicated to mountain sports in 1996 as Head of the sports division, and took up the role of CEO four years later as the company was transformed into today’s Mammut Sports Group.
