Tan Mujiang opens first U.S. flagship in New York

Chinese luxury comb brand Tan Mujiang has opened its first flagship store in the United States, located in New York City.

Opened on October 19, the store offers a variety of the brand’s ornate wooden combs, brushes and accessories, which typically retail between $20 and $200. 

The New York store follows the brand’s opening of a new flagship in Toronto in March, Tan Mujiang’s only other brick-and-mortar location in North America. 

According to Tan Mujiang, which was established in 1993, the brand is the only listed company worldwide in the wooden comb industry. Its products can be found in over 1,200 shops throughout China, as well as in eight overseas flagship locations situated in Southeast Asia, Toronto and New York. 

In a press release, Tan Mujiang said it will increase its investment in its overseas market promotion strategy in the future, with plans to promote the brand through partnerships with popular foreign social media channels, host promotional in-store events overseas and participate in international exhibitions.
