Ted Baker is boosting its licensed business further and has entered into a global product licensing agreement with Timex Group “to underpin its own global plans with a unique product offering in watches that fully complements its apparel and accessory collections.”

CEO Ray Kelvin said it’s “an exciting opportunity to drive accelerated growth in our watch business by leveraging the Timex Group global footprint and infrastructure, in line with our strategy to further develop Ted Baker as a global lifestyle brand.”

Timex will launch the collections internationally through premium retail partners and its global distributor network in summer 2019.

It comes after the company reported strong growth in its licensed portfolio only this week. The firm’s licensed products were standout performers in the first half, even though its physical retail stores faced challenging times.

The firm has been ramping up its licenses in recent periods and signed an underwear deal with Delta Galil only this summer, as well as expanding its product range with America’s The Tile Shop earlier this year.

But it’s also bringing licenses in-house where it makes commercial sense and recently said it would terminate its Pentland deal for footwear.
