The Buckle reports sales declines for October and third quarter

The Buckle reported its October, third quarter and year-to-date sales numbers on Thursday. Net sales for October fell 15.1% to $69.1 million from $81.4 million in October 2015. Comparable store net sales for stores open at least one year decreased 15.5% from last year.

 
Third quarter net sales also decreased by 14.6% to $239.2 million from $280.2 million, and comparable net sales decreased 15.3%. Year-to-date sales also fell 11.8% to $694.9 million from $787.6 million, and comparable sales dropped 12.5%.

Sales woes continue for the Kearney, Nebraska-based retailer. The company reported sales declines for three consecutive months and two consecutive quarters. In order to match fourth quarter and full year 2015 numbers, the company will have to achieve net sales of $332 million and $1.12 billion, respectively.
